Gamer Trivia

Each week two of our hosts go head to head in a best of five trivia contest.  The winner will retain bragging rights and stay and play again next week while the loser has to create next the weeks’ questions. Play along and see just how much gaming knowledge you have.

Mass Effect Andromeda developer Bioware came under fire for its depiction of an NPC transgender character that player characters could interact with.  Outrage was expressed at the dialogue from NPC  Hainly Abrams in how she expressed her gender change.

Quote: “Back home, I was filling test tubes in some dead-end lab. People knew me as Stephan. But that was never who I was. I knew what I could do and I knew who I wanted to do it as. ‘Hainly Abrams, Andromeda Explorer’. That’s me. Feels good. Feels right.”

Speed Run

Each week we’ll break down ten news stories and facts that just didn’t quite make the list for a segment.  We’ve got 1 minute per topic before we move onto the next; finished or not.  Gotta go fast…in the Speed Run.

  1. Arnold Schwarzenegger turns down role for upcoming Predator film.  He will only consider the role if they rewrite the script or make a more significant role.
  2. Gamestop’s online store has possibly been compromised.  A third party notified Gamestop that customers’ card data may have been listed for sale from their online site.  Gamestop is currently investigating these claims and advises that customers keep an eye on their bank accounts.
  3. The new Sci-Fi film, Ghost in the Shell, is projected to lost $60 million dollars.  Rotten Tomatoes has a current score of 46%, while the viewer rating is currently at 62%
  4. Despite the criticisms leading up to the live action film, there is a new Ghost in the Shell anime project in the works.
    • It will be co-directed by Kenji Kamiyama (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex)
    • and Shinji Aramaki (Appleseed Alpha)
  5. Sega Japan has placed some stream restrictions on the PS4 game Puyo Puyo Tetris (out in Japan since 2014, set to release on the west later this month), to protect spoiler content from it’s adventure mode.  In addition, Sega Japan has blocked streaming content for Persona 5, disabling the PS4 share button entirely when this game is being played.
  6. A new trailer dropped for the biographical drama film “All Eyez on Me”, telling the life and career of Tupac Shakur up to the fatal shooting.  The movie is set to release this year on June 16th, which would have been Tupac’s 46th birthday.
  7. Boruto’s first episode releases with average reviews.  Will this new storyline EVER come close to ANY Naruto series?
  8. A new preview for Cartoon Network’s upcoming T.V. series, Megaman, has been released.  OH, MAH, GERRRRRD! (Emphasize that this looks like GARBAGE) (THAT’S how I feel anyway)
  9. Activision is in talks about creating a Marvel-like cinematic universe for its Call of Duty series
  10. Michael Bay may not be finished with the Transformers movie series after all.  When asked by MTV to speak on any other spinoffs, Michaels states, “There are 14 stories written, and there’s good stuff there.  I would like to do one of them though.”
